Today Sylvester Stallone made a return to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to greet the Rocky Statue as the Hollywood cast and crew are in town during the first week of production of Creed II.
Sly took some time – as he always graciously does – to pose for photos with fans and the media. He also gave Philly’s favorite Rocky impersonator Mike Kunda a good left hook when the two posed for photos together. Kunda is the subject of a new documentary, The Pretender, which is set to hit film festivals this year.
As the crowd chanted “Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!”, Stallone knelt down to read the plaque on the statue and shook hands with Philadelphia mayor Jim Kenney.
Late last month, Creed II stars Dolph Lundgren and Florian Munteanu were spotted with a camera crew at the Rocky Steps as fresh snow had fallen, likely the last of the season.
Neither Stallone nor Michael B. Jordan, reprising his title role as Adonis Creed, were present at Thursday’s filming of boxing sequences.
