Actor Michael B. Jordan appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in April, 2015 and chatted with the late night host about his role as Adonis Creed, Apollo Creed’s son in the new Rocky 7 spinoff movie “Creed”, set to hit theaters in the United States on November 25, 2015, which marks the 40th Anniversary of the original Rocky vs. Spider Rico fight from the first film. Jordan’s Jimmy Kimmel interview is among the very first mainstream media interviews in which Creed is discussed.
Jordan chats about chasing chickens with Rocky, filming on location in Philadelphia with the streets lined with fans chanting Rocky’s name as Sylvester Stallone appeared in character around town. The actor also touched on the first photo Sly released from the set of the “Creed” movie showing Rocky Balboa training Adonis Creed in the ring, running through left hooks in the gym.
Based on this interview, it sounds as though Michael B. Jordan was never a follower of the Rocky movie series, but does respect its importance to fans.
