Heritage Auctions has released the full catalog of Sylvester Stallone’s massive collection which will be hitting the auction block later this year in December. Rocky’s Black Leather Jacket from “Rocky II”
Rocky’s iconic leather jacket was worn by Sylvester Stallone in Rocky, Rocky II and Rocky V. The coat offered at auction is the one worn in 1979 during Rocky II. Stallone can be seen trying this jacket on in an exclusive video released by Heritage Auctions earlier this month (click here to watch.) The black leather jacket Rocky wears in Rocky V will also be auctioned in this collection.
Sylvester Stallone’s Handwritten 1975 Script for “Rocky”
An amazing piece – a spiral notebook in Stallone’s writing featuring his original screenplay and notes for Rocky. Sly says of the notebook: “This is where all the ideas were coming out and the way I would write it. I would come up with a random scene and if it felt right, I would continue and build on that. These are all lines that I would eventually put into the script. It’s all these moments here. This is the original ending where it reads ‘the procession approaches and passes Adrian and she screams Rocky’s name. Somehow the delicate voice cuts through all the racket and Rocky hears it and Rocky frantically starts climbing over people out of the ring…appears to be a man trying to go upstream against the tide or up a down escalator…’ This was the original ending and this is the only one that exists on the planet.”
Rocky’s Stars and Stripes Boxing Trunks from “Rocky IV”
Worn and faded after 30 years, these are the boxing shorts that Rocky wore during his fight against the Russian monster Ivan Drago in Rocky 4. The shorts (not this same pair!) were originally worn by Carl Weathers as Apollo Creed in the first Rocky, and then they were passed down to Balboa in Rocky III, later to be passed down to Tommy “The Machine” Gunn in Rocky V. In 2015’s Creed, Adonis Creed wears a modern take on the American Flag boxing shorts made famous by his father Apollo Creed. Grab a replica pair of Rocky’s boxing shorts here!
Rocky’s Leather Bomber Jacket from Russia in “Rocky IV”
Lots of fans have been scouring shops for a similarly designed bomber jacket to this beautiful one Sly wore during the snowy Russian training sequence in Rocky IV. Rocky Balboa also wore this coat (or a duplicate) in the press conference scene at the beginning of Rocky V. Despite Stallone’s impressively muscular physique in Rocky 4, this jacket is shockingly only a size 40!
Brown Fedora Worn by Stallone in “Rocky Balboa”
Created by Baron Hats of California, Sly wore this brown herringbone wool fedora in 2006’s Rocky Balboa. The hat is contained in a box. The hat is a modern take on the dark blue / nearly black fedora that Rocky wears in Rocky and Rocky II.
